There are two important considerations you must weigh before starting your Affiliate Marketing business on the Internet. Are you just looking for a quick buck, or do you want to build a long lasting, high profit, permanent business. If your answer is the first...forget it! If it is the second...you will be in for a lot of hard work, but you are on the right track.

Nothing comes easily. If someone tries to tell you otherwise, just remember the old adage, "buyer beware." If someone convinces you that you can take shortcuts to success in your Affiliate Marketing business, or any business for that matter, you are living in a dream world. This naive approach to Affiliate Marketing will cost you not only lots of money, but will make your efforts fruitless, and a total waste of your time.

Here are several points that will help you determine whether you have a dreamer's approach to business building, or a realistic approach to business building:

Dreamers approach

  • simple to install business in a box
  • buy it, install it, forget it
  • use other people's money
  • easily affordable payments
  • easy, immediate answers for your problems
  • instant personal help
  • you can always under-price your competition
  • everyone wants what you have to sell
  • immediate cash flowing into your account

Realistic approach

  • if in a hurry to make a lot of money, don't even start
  • get-rich-schemes don't work
  • if it seems too good to be true, it is
  • no one will hold your hand
  • there is a long learning process
  • there will be bumps and blips along the way
  • there will be business development expenses

You must realize that there are a lot of con artists and charlatans out there who have no qualms about beating you out of your hard earned money. They are everywhere. You'll find them on the street, on TV, on the radio, in the newspapers, on the Internet, and even among your family and friends. Some schemes to separate you from your money are more obvious than others. Always be aware of the possibilities for falling for a scam. If you use due diligence in developing your Affiliate Marketing business, you will stand a pretty good chance of being successful.

The business world is not for wimps and slackers whether off line or online. Even though you will encounter occasional setbacks during the initial start-up phase of your Affiliate Marketing business, the rewards of success far outweigh the negatives. Your ability to learn, willingness to work hard, patience, persistence, and ability to bounce back from adversity will prove to be a winning combination. The rewards you reap in the real business world far outweigh the hard work involved.

Everyone who starts out in business has the expectation of success. So, if you are not sold a bill of goods from the start, have the wrong idea of what success entails, or are not just plain lazy, and want something for nothing, then there is a greater chance for success than for failure. Build the proper foundation for a strong business from the start. Continue building, testing, modifying, and tweaking your Affiliate Marketing business, and know that you are building a strong financial future for yourself and your family.
